What is wisdom? And who is wise? Benjamin Franklin's answer is: "He who learns from everyone".
If you think about it a little while, you will surely agree.
Of course, we all learn a lot by personally experimenting. While this is necessary and useful to an extent, if one gets locked into the practice of learning by him/herself all the time, he/she is likely to waste his/her energies and time and finally end up "reinventing the wheel" (proverbially) - or in other words, learning what millions of others have already learned in much smarter ways before - something that you could have done in a fraction of the time you took to learn by yourself, if you simply watched and listened to others!
You could do a bit better by "standing on the shoulders of giants", after learning from leaders in a field by adding an innovation that uses what you learned as the base to which you add the results of your own experiments and/or research to create a better solution or product in that field. Now, isn't that a much better way to successfully use your skills and time?!
Quite clearly, we all need to return to learning at many times in our lives, so if you are stuck in a mould where you are toiling to reinvent a wheel, its time to STOP and begin learning again!
And these being the days of the "information age", no excuse remains ! There's tons and tons of information on any topic out there on the Internet just waiting for you to read. And you can access it at the press of a few buttons on your very own Internet enabled smartphone.
It's this very realization that made me decide to write this blog - "I need to learn daily and if possible, transmit what I learned to others who might be interested in learning from me". So this is a (nearly) weekly record of what I learned in the form of an electronic diary or Blog!
It's information that I'd like to pass on to keep you learning - from me!
Thanks a lot for being a reader!
